I was born in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, when it was part of the Soviet Union. After finishing the Kiev State University with a graduate degree in Russian Language (there was no such thing as an undergraduate) I worked as a technical translator and editor.
In 1976, I immigrated to the United States with my husband and two young daughters. We settled in Chicago. A career change landed me in Information Technology.
In 2004, my family story project began. It took eleven years to complete—and here it is.
